Organic Olive Oil & Its Benefits On Salad

By Katie Onson

There are various names to consider when it comes to salad dressing, some which are healthier than others. Thousand Island dressing is one such name to consider and types like French and Italian are commonplace as well. However, when items like these are viewed as unhealthy, there may be other alternatives to look to. Organic olive oil can be used for this purpose but the benefits associated with this product, in relation to salad, are more than worth learning about.

The Telegraph put up a report that talked about the various health benefits that organic olive oil can have when placed on salad. Various authorities on the matter, Bellucci Premium included, can tell you about how heart health can be made better because of the oil in question. It is also worth noting that this type of oil has good fats which can help to reduce the amount of bad cholesterol in the body. One of the little-known benefits of this oil, though, has to do with air pollution.

In order to reduce the impact of air pollution to the hart, according to the report, one should take it upon him or herself to consume two thirds of a teaspoon of organic olive oil a day. This is especially true when air pollution is a case that affects more than just humans; animals and plant life can also suffer. Some of the common short-term affects of air pollution include throat irritation. However, if you want to talk about long-term implications, cases can be as serious as brain damage.

Which sources of air pollution are the most troublesome, you may wonder? Let's say that you are looking to work on your car; the running motor you may be exposed to can cause air pollution on a smaller scale. The burning of fossil fuels can create this as well, so it's important to note the most common locations of this, factories and office buildings included. You can reduce the impact that this can have on you; it's just a matter of how much you're willing to change your diet.

With these points in mind, it should be made clear why it's important to take in organic olive oil. Whether you'd like to ingest it on its own or with other products, its effectiveness is hard to deny. However, I would make the argument that most people would like to use the oil in conjunction with other foods because of how easier it is to take in. Whatever your preference may be, there are far too many benefits, tied to this oil, to simply gloss over.
